Nokia releases HERE Maps app for iOS
While we wait for Apple to iron out the kinks in its Maps app, and for Google to put the finishing touches on its standalone Google Maps app, courtesy of Nokia, there’s now another mapping service to try. The Finnish smartphone maker has today released HERE Maps – a free app for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.
Created using HTML 5, and based on NAVTEQ mapping data, HERE Maps boasts voice-guided walk navigation, public transport and driving directions, and the ability to save maps for offline viewing. It has coverage for around 200 countries.
