Apple announces processor and price updates for the MacBook Pro with Retina Display
In a press release issued by the company, Apple today announced that it has updated both the 13-inch and 15-inch Retina Macbook Pros with faster processors, and lowered the starting price of the 13-inch model. The Cupertino company also announced a price cut for the 256GB 13-inch MacBook Air.
The 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display is now available from £1,249 ($1,499) for 128GB of flash storage, and £1,449 ($1,699) for a faster 2.6 GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor and 256GB of flash storage.
Prior to today’s announcement, the 128GB 13-inch Retina MacBook Pro cost £1,449 ($1,699), while the 256GB version was £1,699 ($1,999).
Apple hasn’t changed the pricing of the 15-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display, but the entry-level model now features a faster 2.4 GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 processor, while the high-end model has a new 2.7 GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 processor.
Finally, the price of the entry-level 256GB 13-inch MacBook Air has been lowered from £1,249 ($1499) to £1,199 ($1399).
