Apple releases updated iPhone 4 TV adverts
Apple has launched two updated iPhone commercials which will quite possibly be the last to feature the company’s iPhone 4 ahead of its rumoured refresh this September. The adverts showcase the device’s awesome ability to act as an iPod, and its App Store, which is undoubtedly unmatched by any of its rivals.
Both ads continue the “If you don’t have an iPhone…” campaign and are now available to watch on Apple’s YouTube channel. However, for your convenience, we’ve embedded them below – complete with transcripts.
iPhone 4 iPod & iTunes TV advert transcript:
“If you don’t have an iPhone, you don’t have an iPod in your phone; with your music, and your playlists. And you don’t have iTunes on your phone, the world’s number one music store; with Genius, that recommends new music based on the songs you already have. iPod and iTunes: just one more thing that makes an iPhone an iPhone.”
iPhone 4 App Store TV advert transcript:
“If you don’t have an iPhone, you don’t have the App Store; so you don’t have the world’s largest selection of apps that are this easy to find and this easy to download right to your phone. So it can be almost anything, like a boarding pass. Or do almost anything, like pay for your coffee. The App Store: just one more thing that makes an iPhone an iPhone.”
So how have these adverts been updated? Did you notice? It’s only a very subtle difference: at the end of each ad, rather then saying “If you don’t have an iPhone, then you don’t have an iPhone,” the voiceover says “Just one more thing that makes an iPhone an iPhone.”
With increasing speculation that Apple’s iPhone 5 will launch this September, these adverts could be the last that feature the company’s iconic iPhone 4 – the device that introduced the front-facing camera and FaceTime, and the Retina display.
