iPad survives 100,000+ foot fall from ‘space’

Back in November we told you about G-Form, and their skydiving video, which demonstrated the toughness of the company’s cases by dropping two iPads from 1300 feet. For their latest video, they decided to raise the bar – by launching an iPad into space! While it might be argued that 100,000 feet isn’t really space, it is still pretty impressive.

From a press release issued by the company:

“G-Form, a company well known for delivering the most extreme electronics cases and athletic pads, launched an iPad clad solely in the company’s 6oz Extreme Edge case into space and then let it free-fall back to Earth.”

“As far as we know, this is the first iPad ever in space,” said G-Form’s VP innovations, Thom Cafaro, “And definitely it’s the first iPad that’s ever free-fallen from space and survived to play more movies. We are usually known for making the most protective gear on the planet,” he continued,” so we decided why not raise the bar to off the planet too.”

G-Form’s iPad cases are priced between £69.99 – £89.99 in the UK and $69.95 – $89.95 in the US.
