iOS 6 to launch on the 19th of September
We finally have an exact release date for iOS 6. At today’s iPhone event, Apple revealed that it will be available to download on Wednesday, the 19th of September.
Physical iPhone 5 & iPad mini mockups surface at IFA
Physical mockups of what are purported to be Apple’s upcoming iPhone 5 and iPad mini devices have surfaced at the IFA 2012 consumer electronics trade show in Berlin. Presumably based on a combination of leaked parts and schematics, the mockups were created by case manufacturers to test out their new accessories.
iPad mini to look like ‘large iPod touch’
When I imagine the “iPad mini,” I imagine the 9.7-inch iPad but a lot smaller. But according to some sources, the device could look a little different – like a “large iPod touch” with slim bezels around the display, separate volume buttons, and a microphone on its rear.

Apple has released a new TV commercial for the third-generation iPad. Titled “All On iPad”, it continues the theme of the last iPad advert “Do It All” – highlighting both the versatility of the device, and the quality of its Retina display.
Email reveals Apple’s Eddy Cue wanted the company to create a 7-inch iPad
An internal email from January 2011 reveals that Eddy Cue – Apple’s senior vice president of Internet Software and Services, believed the company should produce a smaller 7-inch iPad, and that then-CEO Steve Jobs seemed receptive to the idea.
Apple patent application describes iPad Smart Cover with flexible display technology
In a patent application made public on the US Patent & Trademark Office’s website earlier today, Apple describes a flexible display technology which it believes could be integrated into an iPad cover – enhancing the functionality of the tablet, without affecting its overall form factor.
Apple to release new iPad in China on July 20th
Apple has just announced that the new iPad will launch in China on Friday the 20th of July. The third-generation tablet will be available from the Apple Online Store, authorised resellers, and by reservation from the company’s retail stores.
Bloomberg: Apple’s iPad mini is coming in October
We’ve been speculating about Apple’s “iPad mini” for as long as I can remember, but if the latest reports are to be believed, it appears that the tiny tablet is well on its way to becoming a reality. Both Bloomberg and The Wall Street Journal have published reports in the last 48 hrs that support the existence of the 7-inch slate, which could make its debut this October.
Apple pays Proview $60m to settle iPad trademark dispute
According to an Associated Press report, Apple has agreed to pay Chinese electronics firm Proview $60 (£38m) to settle a longstanding dispute over rights to the “iPad” trademark. The settlement clears the way for Apple to sell their hugely successful tablet device in China – the company’s second-biggest market after the United States.
