Belkin has today announced a new upgraded version of their Thunderbolt Express Dock – a device which was first unveiled back in September 2011. The most notable upgrades include the replacing of its three USB 2.0 ports with faster USB 3.0 versions, and the addition of an eSata port. While those changes may be welcomed, the new price might not be.

The photo above, which was posted on Chinese site Weiphone, appears to show the spec sheet of an upcoming 13-inch MacBook Pro. If genuine, it reveals the new model will have a 2.5GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor, Intel HD Graphics 4000 GPU, Bluetooth 4.0, and two USB 3.0 ports – suggesting this is an Ivy Bridge based MacBook Pro.

Matrox has today announced the Matrox DS1, a Thunderbolt dock aimed at MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, and Ultrabook owners. Priced at $249 (£169), the DS1 is a cheaper alternative to Belkin’s $299 (around £200) Thunderbolt Express Dock, but lacks a couple of features that could be deal breakers for some potential customers.

San Francisco startup Leap Motion has unveiled a product that’s guaranteed to get fans of the movie Minority Report excited. The Leap is a 3D motion-control device which is claimed to be 200 times more accurate than anything else on the market – including Microsoft’s Kinect, and when it launches later this year, it will retail for an affordable $69.99 (£44).

Have you enabled Automatic Downloads on your iOS devices? It’s a handy little option introduced with iOS 5, that allows apps, books, or music purchased on one device to be automatically downloaded to others signed into the same account. It would appear that Apple are also bringing the feature to the Mac App Store in the next version of OS X.

Participants in Apple’s “AppleSeed” program have received an invitation to test a new Mac application called Feedback Assistant, which allows them to register each of their Apple machines for software testing. Apple says the information is for “exclusive seeds” of OS X Mountain Lion and hints at hardware-specific “special features.”

According to a Bloomberg report, Apple will release new MacBook Pros at next month’s WWDC in San Francisco. In line with previous rumours, the next-generation machines are said to feature Retina displays, have Intel’s new Ivy Bridge processors, and are thinner than the ones currently on offer.

Apple has finally released an update for OS X 10.5 Leopard which tackles the much-publicised Flashback malware. Weighing in at 1.23MB, Flashback Removal Security Update removes the most common variants of the malware from infected systems and disables Safari’s Java web plug-in for increased security.

Two new Geekbench results discovered over the weekend suggest we may see imminent upgrades to Apple’s iMac and MacBook Pro line-ups. The results, which were spotted by a couple of MacRumors forum members, appear to be from unreleased models.
