Apple’s new ‘Back to School’ promotion launched last week, giving students the opportunity to bag a free $100 (£65) gift card when they purchase a new Mac for school. Final Cut Pro X wasn’t the only new product Apple released today, they also updated their hardware in the form of a new 3TB Time Capsule – which should be good news if you considered the previously biggest model (2TB) too small for your requirements.
Earlier today Apple issued a press release announcing the immediate availability of Final Cut Pro X – the latest version of its pro video editing software for the Mac. Although the latest iMac was released on the 3rd of May, many early purchasers only received theirs last week – and that’s because they opted for models with an SSD (solid-state drive), which Apple were taking 4-6 weeks to ship. According to Chronic Wire, Apple will be updating in-store displays on Tuesday night in preparation for the Wednesday launch of their annual back to school promotion – which offers discounts & deals for students and academic staff purchasing new Macs. The next generation MacBook Air could also be released on the same day.
