Have you ever wanted a tablet powered by OS X? Not a mobile version of it, but the full desktop operating system? Apple doesn’t make one, unfortunately, and it probably never will. But fortunately, one company does. It’s called the Modbook Pro, and it’s available to order now with prices starting at $3,499 (approx. £2,165).

Modbook Inc, the company developing the Modbook Pro – a tablet for creative professionals based on the 13-inch MacBook Pro, has announced that the device will now launch with solid state storage as standard, and that customers can start placing orders for it later this week.

This update introduces Gatekeeper, Apple’s new security feature, and improves the stability, compatibility, and security of your Mac.

Following today’s release of iOS 6 for the iPad, iPhone and iPod touch, Apple has also released OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.2. The update, which is available via the Mac App Store, introduces Facebook integration, Game Center enhancements, and support for Power Nap on the Late 2010 MacBook Air.

More than two months after beta versions of Apple’s Notes and Reminders web apps were first discovered, the Cupertino company has made them available to the public. This means you can now access your Notes and Reminders – along with your Mail, Calendar, Contacts and iWork documents – via iCloud.com on any Mac or PC.
