Apple releases two new iPad mini TV adverts

Apple has posted a couple of new iPad mini TV adverts on its YouTube channel. The first advert, titled “Photos”, shows an iPad and an iPad mini being used to view images in iPhoto. Rather than showing the same photos on both devices, the two combine to complete one scene – for example, a snow capped mountain is shown on one, while a snowboarder is shown on the other.

Apple and HTC reach settlement in patent dispute

Over the weekend, Apple and HTC announced that the two companies have reached a settlement regarding patent infringement disputes between the pair. The settlement sees the dismissal of existing lawsuits and the introduction of a ten-year global licensing agreement which extends to current and future patents held by both firms.

Apple has removed a clever piece of code from its U.K. website that caused the link to its statement over the Samsung ruling to disappear below the fold until a visitor scrolled down to the bottom of the page. The link to the statement is now visible when the page loads on most screens.

Pixar names main studio building after Steve Jobs

While Steve Jobs will be best remembered for being the co-founder and CEO of Apple, he also played a significant role in the success of Pixar – the animation studio responsible for films such as Toy Story, Monsters, Inc., and Wall-E. In recognition, Pixar has now named its main studio building “The Steve Jobs Building”.
