Apple annouces iTunes Festival 2012 – 30 nights of free music

Apple has announced that this year’s iTunes Festival will take place between the 1st and the 30th of September, at the Roundhouse in North London. Over 60 artists will perform over 30 consecutive nights at the event, which has been held each year since 2007, and all tickets are free – you just need to apply online to win them.

Steve Wozniak hired as advisor for official Steve Jobs film, won’t be a “cradle-to-grave” biopic

Earlier this week, Sony Pictures confirmed that Aaron Sorkin, the writer famous for his work on The Social Network, A Few Good Men, and the The West Wing, would be one of the screenwriter’s behind the company’s upcoming Steve Jobs movie. To help him do that, Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak has been recruited as an advisor, and Sorkin promises this won’t be a “cradle-to-grave” biopic.

Apple releases ‘Flashback Removal Security Update’ for systems running OS X 10.5 Leopard

Apple has finally released an update for OS X 10.5 Leopard which tackles the much-publicised Flashback malware. Weighing in at 1.23MB, Flashback Removal Security Update removes the most common variants of the malware from infected systems and disables Safari’s Java web plug-in for increased security.

iCloud beta website reveals plans for web versions of Notes & Reminders applications

It would appear that Apple are planning to add web versions of Notes and Reminders to iCloud.com. Earlier today a beta version of the site was discovered at beta.icloud.com, featuring icons for the two applications alongside the existing ones for Mail, Contacts, Calendar, Find My iPhone, and iWork.

Apple releases OS X 10.7.4 with fix for FileVault security bug

Apple has just released OS X Lion 10.7.4 via Software Update. The update, which is recommended for all users, fixes a bug in OS X 10.7.3 that caused login passwords to be stored in plain text log files, that could be accessed by other system users.
