Tim Cook officially took over as Apple’s CEO when Steve Jobs stepped down to become chairman of the board back in August 2010. Ten months on, Cook is already the world’s highest-rated CEO, surpassing his predecessor’s approval rating by 2% in this year’s Glassdoor survey.

Apple CEO Tim Cook has spent the past week in China, where he has met with the country’s Vice Premier – Li Keqiang, the mayor of Beijing – Guo Jinlong, and paid a visit to the company’s Retail Store in Xidan Joy City. His latest visit, pictured above, saw him tour Foxconn’s new production facility for the iPhone in Zhengzhou.

Apple updates iTunes to 10.6.1

iTunes version 10.6.1 is now available to download via Software Update. Weighing in at 64.9 MB, it brings with it a number of bug fixes, including one which led to the app becoming unresponsive whilst syncing with either the iPod nano or iPod shuffle.

Apple explains why your new iPad reads 100% battery before it’s finished charging

There’s been a lot of talk surrounding the way in which Apple’s new iPad calculates its battery life since the tablet launched on March 16. It has been revealed that the device tells you its battery is at “100%” over an hour before it’s actually finished charging, and if you unplug it straight away, you could lose nearly 10% of its charge time.

Customer walks into glass store door, sues Apple for $1 million

CBS New York reports that 83-year-old Evelyn Paswall is suing Apple after breaking her nose on a glass door at the company’s Manhasset, New York, Retail Store. The octogenarian has requested a total of $1 million from the Cupertino company, which includes punitive damages for negligence, and medical expenses.
