According to an Apple press release issued earlier today, sales of the iPhone 4S topped four million over the first weekend of its release. The company also revealed that over 25 million customers were already using iOS 5 on their devices, and more than 20 million customers have signed up to iCloud.

This fantastic portrait of Steve Jobs is the work of Christian Mauerer, who, along with a team of helpers, decided to create a tribute to the former Apple CEO on the outside of the Munich Apple Store. Apparently the portrait, which was created using 4001 post-it notes, took six hours to complete.

Along with releasing iOS 5 for its mobile devices, Apple have tonight also released an update to Mac OS X. The update, which takes Lion to version 10.7.2 includes a number of bug fixes and improvements to the OS, and more importantly, support for iCloud – Apple’s free cloud services that allow you store and sync content between all of your devices.

In a press release issued earlier today, Apple announced that orders for the iPhone 4S have topped one million in a single day – beating the 600,000 record previously held by the iPhone 4.

If you live in Australia, Canada, France, Germany or the UK, and didn’t manage to pre-order an iPhone 4S from Apple earlier today, it now seems unlikely that you will receive one on launch day.

I didn’t hear the sad news of Steve Jobs’ passing until this morning. Since then it’s been pretty hard to escape the news – I’ve read numerous obituaries and tributes, but I’m not going to post my own here – I don’t think I could do it justice. Instead, I’ve decided to post two videos which are more powerful than anything else I have seen today, plus Apple’s own tribute.
