According to a Bloomberg report, Apple has today lost a UK trademark infringement case against Samsung, after the presiding judge decided that the Korean company’s Galaxy tablets aren’t ‘cool’ enough to be be confused with the iPad.

Apple fixes App Store problem which caused some updated apps to crash on launch

Apple has now fixed an App Store bug which caused some recently updated iOS and Mac apps to crash immediately after launch. The glitch, which was highlighted by Instapaper creator Marco Arment after customers deluged him with emails and tweets, was apparently related to DRM code produced by one of Apple’s servers.

An apparent fault with Apple’s App Store is causing a large number of recently updated iOS and Mac apps to crash immediately after launch. The problem, which is the result of the store pushing out corrupted app binaries, was spotted by Instapaper developer Marco Arment, who was deluged by emails and tweets from customers after his app was hit by the bug.

Bloomberg: Apple’s iPad mini is coming in October

We’ve been speculating about Apple’s “iPad mini” for as long as I can remember, but if the latest reports are to be believed, it appears that the tiny tablet is well on its way to becoming a reality. Both Bloomberg and The Wall Street Journal have published reports in the last 48 hrs that support the existence of the 7-inch slate, which could make its debut this October.

Apple launches iCloud beta website for developers

Following a brief leaked appearance back in May, Apple has now officially launched a new iCloud beta website for registered Mac and iOS developers. The beta portal differs from the public version of the iCloud site in that it features web versions of Reminders and Notes, plus a new updated version of Find My iPhone.

In 1995, Bob Cringley conducted an hour-long interview with Steve Jobs for a TV series called Triumph of the Nerds, but only a small part of the interview was used in the show. The rest of the footage was presumed lost until last year, when it was rediscovered and shown in a number of theatres. Today, Steve Jobs: The Lost Interview has been released as a $3.99 rental on the US iTunes Store.
