However, it has always been up for debate, with strong arguments both for and against a larger iPhone display. Ahead of this year’s Worldwide Developers Conference, which is now less than two weeks away, Apple has posted a schedule for attendees which confirms that the event will begin with a keynote on the 11th of June at 10:00am pacific time (6.00pm here in the UK). The company has also released an official WWDC 2012 app.

Sotheby’s are to auction off a rare working Apple-1 computer and a document created by former Apple CEO Steve Jobs during his employment at Atari. Both sales are due to take place on the 10th of June at the company’s New York auction house.

Prior to its launch in April 2010, there was some speculation the original iPad would have dual dock connectors, one at the bottom and a second down a side. Although those rumours turned out to be wrong, patent applications confirmed Apple had at least considered the idea. Now it would appear they went as far as testing it – a prototype has turned up on eBay.

More than 3,000 people have requested tickets for an Apple exhibition based in the UK that will kick off later this year. Aimed at creative professionals with Mac and iOS devices, Appule promises to deliver “a forum to engage with each other and key suppliers.”

Apple has started running a couple of new App Store promotions. ‘Editors Choice’, which appears to have taken the place of “Staff Favourites”, sees new and noteworthy apps given some extra exposure, and the company has also launched a ‘Free App of the Week’ promo.
