Apple confirms 23rd of October media event

It’s official! As expected, Apple will be holding a special event next Tuesday, the 23rd of October, at the California Theatre in San Jose, California. The confirmation comes courtesy of The Loop, who received the invite featured above.

The main focus of the event is likely to be the much-anticipated iPad mini, and the caption on the invite: “We’ve got a little more to show you” could perhaps be interpreted as a hint towards that. The smaller iPad is expected to have a 7.85-inch screen, and similar specifications to the iPad 2.

As we reported yesterday, Apple could also use the event to announce a 13-inch MacBook Air with a Retina display, and updates to its Mac mini lineup.

The event is scheduled to start at 10:00am Pacific Time – 6:00pm here in the UK.
