Apple releases iOS 6.1.3 with passcode bug fix

iOS 6.1.3 update

Apple has just released iOS 6.1.3 for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. The update brings with it a number of fairly minor improvements and bug fixes, including a patch for a security vulnerability which allows an iPhone’s passcode lock to be bypassed through a series of button taps and presses.

This update contains improvements and other bug fixes including:

  • Fixes a bug that could allow someone to bypass the passcode and access the iPhone app
  • Improvements to Maps in Japan

As per usual, the iOS 6.1.3 update is available over-the-air on compatible devices, or it can be downloaded via iTunes on your Mac or PC.

Apple also updated the Apple TV to version 5.2.1, introducing a redesigned Hulu app for US customers, and a number of security fixes.
