New iPad shipping dates slip in the UK, US, and other countries
If you haven’t already pre-ordered a new iPad, you probably won’t be able to get one delivered to you on its 16th of March launch day. Just three days on from Apple unveiling their third-generation tablet, shipping times for it have been pushed back in the UK, US, and other countries.
On both the US & Canada online Apple Stores shipping times have slipped to the 19th of March, while customers in Australia and Singapore will have to wait just a few days longer, with the 22nd of March being quoted. I wouldn’t be surprised to see either of those dates pushed back further over the weekend.
Here in the UK, and in our fellow European countries of France, Germany and Switzerland, dispatch times of 2-3 weeks are now being quoted, resulting in likely delivery dates of early April – that’s when mine is due to arrive (ordered last night).
The Japanese online Apple store also shows 2-3 weeks for dispatch, though spare a thought for Hong Kong customers – shipping times are displayed as ‘Currently unavailable’.
In related news, MacRumors reports that some UK customers who placed their their pre-order on the night the new iPad was unveiled, have since received notification from Apple that their delivery date of the 16th of March has been pushed back to either the 20th or 21st.
If you’ve pre-ordered one, what date has Apple has given you for the delivery?
