New iMac

New iMacs are finally here! As expected they feature Intel’s latest Sandy Bridge processors and the new high-speed Thunderbolt port, which allows you to daisy-chain as many as six devices. There are two 21.5-inch models and two 27-inch models. They are all Quad-Core, include new AMD Radeon HD graphics processors, and have FaceTime HD Cameras.

Prices for the different models:

21.5-inch: 2.5GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5, 500GB hard drive, 4GB RAM & AMD Radeon HD 6750M with 512MB = £999.00 ($1199.00)

21.5-inch: 2.7GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5, 1TB hard drive, 4GB RAM & AMD Radeon HD 6770M with 512MB = £1249.00 ($1499.00)

27-inch: 2.7GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5, 1TB hard drive, 4GB RAM & AMD Radeon HD 6770M with 512MB = £1399.00 ($1699.00)

27-inch: 3.1GHZ Quad-Core Intel Core i5, 1TB hard drive, 4GB RAM & AMD Radeon HD 6970M with 1GB = £1649.00 ($1999.00)

You can of course also configure your own iMac with bigger hard drives and more RAM, plus the option of a 3.4GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7.

While the new iMacs aren’t radically different from the previous generation, it’s a long overdue update – the last one was back in July 2010. So if you have been holding out for a new one, now is the perfect time to buy!
